Exhibition “Invasion” to open in Centrum för fotograf in Stockholm

We are happy to announce that we are working on the installation exhibition “Invasion” from 18 of February till 12 of March in Centrum för fotograf in Stockholm. The installation will features work of 9 Ukrainian photographers - Roman Bordun, Lisa Bukreyeva, Julia Kochetova, Yana Kononova, Sasha Kurmaz, Wladyslaw Musiienko, Viacheslav Ratinsky, Sergii Polezhaka, Yana Sidash - who received the mini-grants from us previously to document the war.

The photographs mainly focus on the consequences of military aggression and people's lives during war. The visuals vary in genre from reportage photography to artistic interpretation of events using documentary photography as a key medium. Exhibition “Invasion” features 9 Ukrainian photographers - Roman Bordun, Lisa Bukreyeva Julia Kochetova, Yana Kononova, Sasha Kurmaz, Wladyslaw Musiienko, Viacheslav Ratinsky, Sergii Polezhaka, Yana Sidash -  documenting the Russian invasion of their home country since February 2022. The photographs mainly focus on the consequences of military aggression and people's lives during war. The visuals vary in genre from reportage photography to artistic interpretation of events using documentary photography as a key medium.

The Installation is organized by Ukrainian Warchive in partnership with Centrum för fotograf and curated by Emine Ziyatdinova. Ukrainian Warchive is a digital archive with the goal to preserve documentary material from the Russian invasion and provide support to Ukrainian photographers documenting the events in their homeland. The Ukrainian Warchive is supported by the Swedish Institute and the Hasselblad Foundation.

On 12 March 2023, Tempo Documentary Festival will take place and we will have a conversation with Emine Ziyatdinova and Ukrainian photographers (TBC) at the Centre for Photography via Zoom link.
